"On Flourish // Perish we spent a lot of time tinkering in front of the computer and on midi controllers,” confirms Standell-Preston. “We still connected during that album, but there wasn’t that raw energy that we discovered on Deep In The Iris. During the end of recording… we vowed to play together on whatever we recorded next. We also had a keen desire to write songs that could be played front to back on any instrument. We wanted to write more traditional songs, like a song that could be played while sitting on the porch."
